The legal drama between rap crooner Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion is heating up. New documents have surfaced online and show TL's legal team has filed a motion on his behalf arguing evidence suggests Stallion's statements on the July 2020 might be contradictory.
Tory Lanez Files Motion In Meg Thee Stallion Case
Excepts from the motion have emerged online and suggests key witnesses to what happened between Meg and Tory lean toward Lanez not being the speculated shooter.
“Evidence provided to the defense by the prosecution in discovery contains forensic and scientific reports, as well as statements of independent third-party eyewitnesses, which directly contradict the statements of Megan P. concerning the incident. A protective order was issued on November 18, 2020 prohibiting Mr. Peterson from disclosing the contents of the prosecution’s evidence and prohibiting Mr. Peterson’s counsel from disclosing the contents of the prosecution’s evidence outside the legal process. There is significant evidence, provided by the People to Mr. Peterson, which contradicts Megan P. ‘s statements. This evidence – including gunshot residue implicating others- is mitigating, if not exculpatory, and casts serious doubt on the claims made by Megan P. The People are aware, witnesses who observed the alleged events also provide information that implicates others.”
The motion also acknowledged Meg exploding on Twitter last week over reports claiming the case had been dropped. Lanez’s legal team wants an even playing field considering Stallion publicly said he’s responsible for shooting her.
“On January 20, 2021 and January 21, 2021, members of the media incorrectly reported that charges against Mr. Peterson had been dismissed, based on an erroneous reading of the publicly available Los Angeles Superior Court website. Neither Mr. Peterson nor anyone associated with him had anything to do with those incorrect reports and made no public statements responding to them. There is also a protective order in place prohibiting Mr. Peterson from having any contact with Megan P., including on social media. In contrast to Mr. Peterson’s silence, Megan P authored and posted six tweets to her 5.6 million twitter followers in quick succession. The inflammatory information transmitted in Megan P’s tweets was quickly picked up by mainstream media publications. Due to the limitations placed on Mr. Peterson and his counsel under the protective order, Mr. Peterson has been unable to respond to Megan P’s inflammatory statements to provide his own clarifying statements.”
Tory Lanez’s Team Wants Protective Order Adjusted
The motion uses Meg’s Twitter fingers as reason enough to have a protective order against him adjusted. The order forces him to remain silent about any evidence he might have proving his innocence in the shooting.
In light of Megan P.’s recent tweets and the public attention to this matter, Mr. Peterson asks that this Court modify the protective order as it relates to him, his counsel and/or his representatives. Further, Mr. Peterson is prohibited from disclosing any information provided to him from the prosecution, including scientific evidence and independent eyewitness accounts which differ substantially from the story being disseminated by Megan P. to these limitations, Mr. Peterson is unable to respond meaningfully to any of the statements made by Ms. P. Mr. Peterson has been careful to comply with the protective order, but at this point, the protective order is significantly prejudicial to Mr. Peterson and jeopardizes his right to a fair and judicial proceeding.
Dez Bryant Defends TL Support
Last week, NFL star Dez Bryant took to his Twitter to salute Tory Lanez. He let it be known he supported him after originally presuming the charges were actually dropped. Dez still doubled down on his support of TL after catching backlash due to the fact that the Tory is still awaiting trial.
“salute to a real 1 @torylanez … I like Tory lanez music the man jam period.. if the man shot a woman he wrong no buts about it… but if you think I’m going to dislike somebody without the facts.. go ahead and hate me… social media has taking away a lot of people self control..”
Democratic political delegate Cory Provost caught wind of his tweets and came at him. The pair went back and forth, as Dez did with others too, prompting the NFL star to clarify his stance on the trial and entire situation itself.

Meg Thee Stallion Explodes On Tory Lanez
Earlier the same day, Stallion went to her Twitter page and didn’t hold back. Meg lashed out at Tory and everyone on her timeline about not believing her claims of suffering near-death gunshot wounds at his hands.
