December 2022: DaBaby Wins Lawsuit
Just before the holidays, DaBaby received good news. He won his trial over an event payment dispute which ended in a brawl with a promoter. The Charlotte rapper’s criminal battery charge was dropped along with the victory.
November 2022: Big Energy Freestyle
In November, the “Bestie” rapper did a freestyle over Latto’s “Big Energy” hit song, which was well-received by fans on YouTube. Many said he rapped better than the Atlanta native over her own track.
Perhaps the freestyle could be a way to get back into the public’s good graces.
The Fall
September 2022: DaBaby Blackballed Debate
A debate sparked on Twitter with Hot 97’s Ebro Darden, Meek Mill, Boosie, and DJ Akademiks about DaBaby being blackballed after low album sales for his latest album, Baby On Baby 2.

Earlier that month, while the Charlotte native was performing, fans appeared uninterested and turned their chairs the other way. According to other media reports, tickets to his shows were priced as “buy one, get one free.”

During the summer, there was a domino effect of cancellations followed by New York City’s Governors Ball removing him from their lineup, along with other festivals, such as Lollapalooza and Las Vegas’ Day N Vegas.
July 2021: Rolling Loud Comments Fall Out
Less than two months after DaBaby’s clothing line with boohooMan was announced, the company canceled the collection due to his Rolling Loud remarks regarding HIV/AIDS and homosexuals.

July 2019: Suge Video Gets Over 100M Views
“Suge,” accumulated over 100 million views on YouTube amid the video’s release, and the song was also remixed by Nicki Minaj. Later that year, he went No. 1 with his sophomore effort, “Kirk,” which he reacted to in a post on Instagram, saying — “God Is Great.”
March 2019: “Baby On Baby” Album Debut Success
