Music producer Timbaland has announced he has unreleased tunes from late R&B singer and protégé Aaliyah this weekend.
Timbo broke the news to fans on his Instagram page Saturday (August 8) night.
Last spring, Tim dished on his love for the late musician during a concert.
“I don’t touch baby girl’s records—you know that’s Aaliyah. I was riding home one day. Sleep. She spoke to me in my sleep and said, ‘[Tink]’s the one.'” (The FADER’s Instagram)
On the singer’s 36th birthday anniversary, music mogul Dame Dash remembered his former lover.

Last November, Timbaland defended his publicized social media bashing of a Lifetime film based on Aaliyah’s life.
“I don’t know whose fault it it,” Tim responded when asked about the Lifetime production before saying the fact Aaliyah’s life story would be told for a made-for-TV upset him the most. “That’s what made me kinda go off the way I did. It was the first initial time and it was like, ‘Wow. This is how y’all are gonna really do it? Y’all are really gonna put this out?” I always thought it was a rumor. I thought it was a joke. Evidently it wasn’t then I started to realize, ‘Wait a minute, this is really real.’ … I shouldn’t have never paid it any attention.” (Hot 97)
Tim also explained how his outburst still had a positive impact on the broadcast’s overall ratings.
“It was just done wrong,” Tim added. “I feel like I let my emotions get the best of me because everybody watched that. If I’m a business man and I have a TV show, whether it’s good or bad, I got viewers. All you gotta do is put it on.” (Hot 97)
