Anwan Glover explained how his collaboraion with Dipset came about.

“I just did a song with Jim Jones and Juelz Santana, Chink [Santana] was the producer,” Glover told SOHH. It’s gonna be on Jimmy’s album it’s called, ‘Girlfriends.’ Chink actually called me. I was up in New York shooting a video with Wale and right after that I went over to the studio and I did the track. I do music too. I also perform in a band in Washington DC. I’m familiar with the studio and I’m pretty much comfortable with the stage.” (SOHH)

Glover isn’t the only Wire actor who is attempting a career in rap. Felicia “Snoop” Pearson recently recorded a rap single with Lil’ Mo.

“I’m working on some music right now. I’m releasing a single [“Lovely”] with me and Lil’ Mo. She’s been around for a long time. She’s family. She told me whenever I’m ready to do my project and want to do a song with her, ‘come on.'” (SOHH)

The Wire‘s fifth and final season concluded last year.

“I’m not sad to see it go,” Anwan Glover told SOHH. “We have so much to offer it’s going to go down in history. This is what’s going on, it’s always going to be politics, media, violence and education. Nobody [else] touches that.” (SOHH)
