R&B singer The Weeknd‘s Beauty Behind The Madness album has reportedly crushed its competition by selling over 415,000 copies over its first 7 days in stores.

According to reports, Weeknd’s new album has debuted atop the sales chart.

Q4 may not officially start for another month, but today is the first Friday of the year’s home stretch, as XO/Republic’s The Weeknd scores a monster #1 retail debut for his hit-studded Beauty Behind the Madness, moving 325k on the HITS Album Sales Chart (and, thanks to giant streams and single sales, 415k on our SPS chart). Initial one-day estimates had the soulful crooner’s latest release easily toppling its competition on the music sales chart this week.

Based on very early reads, The Weeknd looks headed to a first week in the ballpark of 250k. Preliminary numbers on Halsey suggest 70-80k. From what we expect for next week’s chart, these should be #1 and #2, barring any surprises at the VMAs. Look for more more extensive projections coming soon. (Hits Daily Double)

Weeknd thanked fans for their support of the new album on social media last month.

Weeknd’s newest release comes two years after his hit Kiss Land album.

Spanning 14 tracks, Beauty marks Abel Tesfaye’s sophomore album following 2013’s Kiss Land. Guest collaborators on the record include Lana Del Rey, Ed Sheeran, and Labrinth; Kanye West provides production on the suave cut “Tell Your Friends”. In addition to the Fifty Shades of Grey hit “Earned It”, the record features the singles “Often”, “The Hills”, and “Can’t Feel My Face”. (Consequence of Sound)
