The new album’s artwork shows Weeknd by himself in front of what appears to be a window.

The Weeknd has always maintained mystery, but he decides to show his face on the dark cover of his upcoming album Kiss Land. The Canadian singer poses in front of a window with the city lights behind him. Although he’s released several mixtapes and the Trilogy compilation last year, he considers this his first album. Kiss Land is due later this summer featuring the title track and “Belong to the World.” (Rap-Up)

Recently, Weeknd broke down the meaning behind his forthcoming retail release.

Kiss Land symbolizes the tour life, but it’s a world that I created in my head. Just like House of Balloons symbolizes Toronto and my experiences there, but it’s a world that I created. When I think about Kiss Land, I think about a terrifying place. It’s a place I’ve never been to before that I’m very unfamiliar with.” (Complex)

Back in March, the project’s title surfaced across the Internet.

The Weeknd is working towards completion of his next album, and he decided to give us a look at the project’s official title, Kiss Land. We still don’t have a solid release date, but expect to see it to hit the web and store shelves sometime this year. (HHNM)

Last November, his Trilogy compilation album debuted on the sales charts.

Leading the way this week is The Weeknd’s Trilogy at No. 4 behind Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 (93,200), Taylor Swift‘s Red (144,500) and One Direction‘s Take Me Home (539,700). According to Nielsen SoundScan, the singer’s new compilation album has sold 86,300 copies after a week in stores. (SOHH Sales Wrap)
