R&B singer The Weeknd‘s streak of not putting out new solo work is “this” close to ending. The elusive crooner has announced plans to put out his new My Dear Melancholy album in the coming hours.
Weeknd went to Instagram Thursday (March 29) with the unexpected studio release news.

Earlier this month, the Canada native sparked attention in California supposedly filming a new video.
Production sources tell TMZ … the singer took over tiny Taft, California — about 120 miles northwest of L.A. — last week to film the vid for his new single. It looks like it will feature Abel riding on some sort of hoverboard … which is pretty badass. We’re told the new track will be released next month before The Weeknd takes the stage at Coachella, where he’s headlining the Friday night shows. The new song will be his first solo joint since he released his “Starboy” album in 2016. (TMZ)
Next month, Weeknd is slated to take over the Coachella music festival.
Last month, Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar‘s “Pray For Me” Black Panther The Album single video premiered.
