R&B singer The Weeknd has reportedly pleaded no contest for physically assaulting a Nevada police officer earlier this year.
According to reports, Weeknd put an end to the drama in court this week.
The singer entered his plea in a Vegas court Wednesday for the January arrest. He was ordered to pay $1,000 to an injured cop fund, complete anger management and an alcohol evaluation. He’ll also have to complete 50 hours of community service. The judge is letting him do the hours at a non-profit group in his native Canada. (TMZ)
Reports of the nasty incident bubbled online back around mid-January.
Law enforcement sources tell us a fight allegedly involving Weeknd started inside the Cromwell Hotel around 4:20 AM … and when they arrived, the fight was still raging. We’re told cops attempted to break up the fight, and one of them pulled the singer into an elevator during the scuffle. That’s when Weekend allegedly punched him in the head. (TMZ)
Immediately following the alleged punch, police arrested Weeknd.
The singer — best known for his duet “Love Me Harder” with Ariana Grande — was instantly hauled off to jail for battery of a protected person. (TMZ)
The singer posted up a photo after the arrest went down.
