The ‘NOBODY’ 4K Ultra HD Is Everything You Want It To Be

I'll be the first to admit it - I am 100 percent about the digital wave. Let's be honest - life is only getting easier with non-physical items. Heck, look at the popularity of NFTs in 2021 and even the next-generation gaming consoles have embraced providing a digital-only version in contrast to their disc-ready units. I've remained loyal to going non-physical - until getting my hands on the Nobody 4K Ultra HD.

Yes. I have woke up and realized just how brilliant – if done properly – the 4K Ultra HD experience can truly be. For starters, you can’t just load up the new Nobody movie onto your Blu-ray player – or PlayStation 5 – as you would unless you go with the Blu-ray or DVD versions which both released this week (June 22) with the 4K Ultra HD version. You’ll have to make sure you have a 4K Ultra HD-ready machine.

Just imagine being a kid all over again and wanting to go on the best ride at Six Flags but having to be ‘this’ tall to enjoy it. Feels unfair at the time but once you’ve reached the required height? Life-changing.

The Nobody 4K Ultra HD experience has left me breathless. I personally went out to see the movie – twice – back in February and would have gone another few times if life and availability allowed. “Better Call Saul” star Bob Odenkirk‘s acting as Hutch – matched up with Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA – plus the legendary Christopher Lloyd all in the same action-packed movie? Yup. But seeing the intense clarity and high-flying action feels like what people hoped to get a decade ago when 3D televisions were a short-lived thing but never quite came together.

The 4K Ultra HD experience is the equivalent of getting bumped from a crowded middle seat in the back of a 6-hour flight to an empty first class section with all the amenities you could imagine. The sound. The visuals. The ability to practically see people’s breaths coming off the screen. It’s the ‘only’ way movies should be experienced at home.

While I could go on and on and on about the quality being four times sharper than full HD films, I really want to highlight what I found myself loving even more than the feature film this time around. The bonus features.

If you’re a true movie fanatic, you know the film never ends even when the credits show up. The Nobody 4K Ultra HD comes packed with a ton of bonus content. There’s the must-see deleted scenes which gives you full context to some key characters in the film – notably Hutch’s father-in-law and his very close business associate.

But what you’ll appreciate even more is finding out just how much went into Bob Odenkirk’s actual training. You’ll see just how much effort and will power he put into his focus of getting prepared for the film plus having your mind explode as you see key stunt coordinators actually being major characters in the film. Realizing the training started in November 2017, it’s just mind-blowing to see Saul – er – Bob literally putting months and practically well over a year into getting prepared for this role.

There’s a complete breakdown of the biggest scene in the film – the bus fight. From seeing the pre-visualization to understanding why each moment is vital for the film, you’re going to get a flurry of movie-making gems.

There’s an excellent segment featuring both RZA and Christopher Lloyd as they talk about their roles and what they brought to the table – plus the entire crew’s admiration for just how much they killed it – pun not intended.

Everything from a last-minute decision to go with Russians over South Korean gangsters to learning way more than you would have imagined – plus come on, getting to experience the movie with audio commentary from both Bob Odenkirk and director Ilya Naishuller? What more could you want?
