Trayvon Martin To Have Miami-Dade Street Named After Him

One of the key figures in the motivation behind the Black Lives Matter global movement – Trayvon Martin – will forever be immortalized with a Miami-Dade street being named after him. The Miami-Dade commissioners reportedly approved adding Martin’s name to the street of Northeast 16th Avenue which is the path to the high school Martin attended before having his life taken by Florida neighborhood watch man George Zimmerman in 2012. While details are still coming together, the renaming is expected to happen before 2021.
