R&B singer The-Dream is reportedly singing the blues right now after being arrested in New York City today (May 7) on multiple criminal charges.
According to reports, Dream turned himself over to police early Wednesday.
The-Dream turned himself into cops this morning for an alleged attack on his ex-GF … and TMZ has learned he’s been booked for 2 felonies — assault and strangulation. Law enforcement sources tells us Dream walked into an NYPD precinct at 8:30 A.M. ET — he had been wanted by police for questioning in connection with an alleged assault on his baby mama, Lydia Nam in April 2013. According to law enforcement sources … Dream’s been booked for the 2 felonies as well as 3 misdemeanors — assault, reckless endangerment, and child endangerment. He’s still in custody. (TMZ)
Reports last week revealed his alleged attack on an ex-girlfriend went down last May in a New York hotel.
According to law enforcement, the alleged incident took place in April 2013 at the Plaza Hotel, roughly three months before Dream’s ex-GF Lydia Nam gave birth to his infant son. It’s unclear what prompted the alleged attack and if Nam ever sought medical attention — but for some reason, she didn’t file a police report until November, which is when she described the alleged assault to police. The news came on the heels of Dream releasing his new “Black” song.
In the clip, he sings about his mom, who told him, “Never be impressed by a man with no message,” while shots of Sterling pass by. Over the weekend, a recording of a man, which reportedly has been confirmed to be Sterling, is heard telling his then girlfriend that he didn’t want her posting photos online of herself with black people, specifically basketball legend, Magic Johnson.
