New York rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine is going to need more than witty bars and math to get him away from a three-year prison sentence. The hip-hop artist has revealed he’s going the GED route to avoid landing time behind bars.

Tek went to social media Wednesday (January 31) and shared a pic of himself in straight study mode.

According to reports, a judge told him this week he had to complete his GED or face doing a prison stint.

Rapper 6ix9ine, currently in the middle of sentencing proceedings after pleading guilty in a child sex case, may face prison for something far less disturbing than uploading a video of a 13-year-old child engaging in sex acts—failing his GED. As part of his plea deal in the fall of 2015, Jezebel reports the “Gummo” rapper agreed to complete his GED. On Tuesday, he admitted he hadn’t yet done so in the past two-plus years, despite potentially facing between one and three years behind bars if he fails to meet the terms of his plea agreement. Outside of hitting the books, 6ix9ine has clocked in studio time with fellow rap rookie Tory Lanez.

This week, vixen Blac Chyna co-signed 6ix9ine’s “Keke” single with a booty-shaking clip.

A few days ago, Tek hopped on Instagram to remind doubters he’s no one-hit wonder.
