Rap rookie Tekashi 6ix9ine is glowing up faster than anyone could have predicted. Weeks before his long-awaited debut album arrives, the New York rapper has teamed up with Cash Money boss Birdman.

Tek went to Instagram this past weekend to reveal his new deal with Birdman’s Rich Gang crew.

The huge announcement even sparked reactions from Birdman and Rich Gang’s Young Thug.

According to reports, a judge recently told him he had to complete his GED or face doing a prison stint.

Rapper 6ix9ine, currently in the middle of sentencing proceedings after pleading guilty in a child sex case, may face prison for something far less disturbing than uploading a video of a 13-year-old child engaging in sex acts—failing his GED. As part of his plea deal in the fall of 2015, Jezebel reports the “Gummo” rapper agreed to complete his GED. On Tuesday, he admitted he hadn’t yet done so in the past two-plus years, despite potentially facing between one and three years behind bars if he fails to meet the terms of his plea agreement. Outside of hitting the books, 6ix9ine has clocked in studio time with fellow rap rookie Tory Lanez.
