In addition to the DUI charge, Mari reportedly attacked a police officer.

Teairra Mari — the hot chick who appeared with Bow Wow in the 2010 movie “Lottery Ticket” — is accused of doing the ONE thing you should never do after getting arrested for DUI … attacking a cop. Law enforcement sources tell us the 23-year-old actress/singer was driving a silver Infiniti through Beverly Hills around 3:00 AM, when she rear-ended the car in front of her. (TMZ)

As things stand today (August 20), Mari remains behind bars with a set bail.

According to TMZ, she showed clear signs of being intoxicated and was arrested for DUI, with onlookers on the scene saying “she couldn’t even stand.” Mari, real name Teairra Maria Thomas, reportedly became “combative” with one of the arresting officers, who suffered a minor cut. Now along with the DUI, she faces charges for assaulting a police officer. Mari is said to be in custody, with bail set at $50,000. (All Headline News)

The arrest comes days after officially linking with hitmaker Rico Love‘s Division 1 record label.

Teairra Mari fans may finally get that sophomore album they’ve been waiting for. The R&B chanteuse has departed Warner Bros. Records and signed a new deal with Rico Love’s Division1 label. She made the official announcement on set of the video for “That’s All Me,” helmed by Rico. “Teairra Mari is now part of the Division1 family. She is officially signed to Division1. We got the lights on all over the world,” said the music maestro, who’s written hits for Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Diddy. (Rap-Up)

The R&B hearthrob came onto the music scene in 2005 thanks to help from Def Jam.

Marí released her debut album on the Island Def Jam-distributed Roc-A-Fella, with full support from Roc-A-Fella head Jay-Z, in August 2005. Though it reached number five on the Billboard 200 chart — despite little in the way of promotion — Maríwas subsequently dropped from her label. She was informed the night of her high-school prom. Later picked up by the Warner-affiliated Asylum label, Marí returned to the charts in 2010 with “Sponsor,” featuring Gucci Mane and Soulja Boy Tell Em. (All Music)
