Country music star Taylor Swift wants every Kanye West fan know she isn’t about trolling him by putting out a new album on the death anniversary of his mom Donda West.

Swift’s camp came forward Friday (August 25) to nix the headline-generating buzz.

“It is standard practice that releases come out on Fridays and we locked in this release date based on other Universal Music Group releases,” a publicist at Swift’s label tells PEOPLE. “There is no correlation.” (People Music)

Both Kanye and his wife Kim Kardashian are expected to miss Swift’s potential MTV Video Music Awards wrath at this Sunday’s ceremony.

It would have been pretty epic … Taylor showing off “Look What You Made Me Do” as she stares down the royal couple, but we’re told long before the single was released they decided the VMAs were not for them. They’re in town, but we’re told there’s no particular reason for them to trek to The Forum near LAX. (TMZ)

Some media outlets believe Taylor went directly at Kim’s husband with her newly released “Look What You Made Me Do” single.

“Look What You Made Me Do” dropped to streaming services, as promised, late Thursday. From the very first lines, it’s clear that Swift is in no mood to make nice. “I don’t like your little games/Don’t like your tilted stage,” she says, in what is most likely a reference to the innovative tilted stage that West showcased on his “Saint Pablo” world tour.
