Hollywood actress Taraji P. Henson has dished on the headline-generating news of R&B icon Mariah Carey appearing in the upcoming third season of Fox’s “Empire” series.

Although slim with her words, Henson gushed over what Carey brought to the hit primetime show.

Mariah Carey already has shot her guest appearance on the show. “She was great,” Henson said. “She’s fabulous; I wish I could wear a leotard like that. What she brings to the music industry she brought to the show. I’m glad Mariah spent time with little old us.” (Deadline)

“Empire” went to Twitter Monday (August 8) and revealed Carey would make an appearance when “Empire” returns.

Barring any changes, Carey’s on-screen cameo will go down in early October.

Carey will play Kitty, a mega-superstar who comes to Empire to collaborate with Jamal Lyon (Jussie Smollett) on an explosive new song. When the duet encounters obstacles, Kitty helps Jamal dig deep to overcome personal difficulties and reach a musical breakthrough. Her episode airs Wednesday, Oct. 5. (Variety)

Last month, “Empire” star Taraji P. Henson revealed rap icon Biz Markie would appear in season three.
