Takeoff Still Trending

The rap community was saddened by the passing of Migos rapper Takeoff in November.

Since then, the “Last Memory” rapper has been in the top trending searches for musical artists of 2022, according to Google. Most of the searches involve the verses he released with Migos.

No Signs Of Slowing Down

According to Google, the most searched verse is  Migos’ “Motorsport,” featuring Cardi B and Nicki Minaj. “Motorsport” is also one of YouTube’s top five most-viewed videos, with Migos as the lead artists.

Due to fans remembering Takeoff and his memorable verses, the Google search “Best Takeoff Verses” is up 1,600% since his death. The top trending songs include hits such as, “Hotel Lobby,” “Messy,” T-Shirt,” “Deadz,” and “Cocoon.”\

Long Live Takeoff

Outside of the verses from his most popular songs, fans also shared their condolences and tributes to the late rapper. Takeoff’s cousin and fellow Migos rapper, Offset, said he would share a series of live tributes before performances in any city.

His latest onstage appearance featured a backdrop image of the late “Casper” rapper while Jackson 5’s “Never Can Say Goodbye,” played in the background. Offset and rap great Busta Rhymes also pushed back the release of their albums around the time of his death out of respect for Takeoff.

Verses that have come from Takeoff posthumously include the track “Jealousy” and “Feel The Fiyaaaah” from Metro Boomin’s latest album, Heroes & Villains
