Grammy-winning rapper T.I. appeared in good health after being spotted this weekend in Atlanta, Georgia just days after being arrested and charged with drug possession in Hollywood.
According to reports, T.I. took the stage and was accompanied by rapper Nelly this past weekend.
T.I. was motivated to get back to ATL. After he and his wife Tiny were arrestedfor alleged drug possession last week in West Hollywood, the King of the South returned home, following orders from his parole officer, for an impromptu performance of “Motivation” at Club Ritz in Riverdale. He was joined by fellow rapper and friend Nelly and received lots of love from the crowd. The song’s lyrics couldn’t have been more appropriate at this time. “Anythang don’t kill me, make me better,” Tip emphatically rapped while wearing sweats and an AKOO T-Shirt that read, “Pain is a small thing to a giant.” (Rap-Up)
A few days ago, tests confirmed T.I. and his wife had ecstasy pills when arrested.
Pills found in the car of rapper/actor T.I.and his wife Tameka Cottle have tested positive as a type of Ecstasy, RadarOnline.com has learned, and the case has now been turned over to the District Attorney’s office which now must decide what, if any charges will be filed against the couple. As RadarOnline.com previously reported, T.I., who’s real name is Clifford Harris, Jr. was arrested Wednesday night, along with his wife, in West Hollywood, California. (Radar Online)
Ex-United Nations Ambassador Andrew Young questioned the real reasoning behind the couple being pulled over in Los Angeles this week.
“I assume that you’re innocent until you’re proven guilty,” Young told the Associated Press in a telephone interview. “If he was driving and smoking marijuana, that is absolutely stupid. But why was he pulled over in the first place? Because he had a Maybach? Because he was black? Because they know who he is and resent his success?” (CBS News)
Details on the couple’s arrest spread across the Internet mid-week.
Tiny and her new hubby were picked up in Los Angeles after police stopped T.I. (born Clifford Harris Jr.) around 10:30 p.m. for making an illegal U-turn in his Maybach, according to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. When the officers approached the vehicle, they apparently smelled the scent of marijuana wafting from the car and then searched the passengers and the automobile. Police found an unspecified number of pills that “resembled ecstasy.” T.I. and Tiny were not traveling alone but the Sheriff’s Department spokesperson said the other passengers in the car were not charged with a crime. The duo posted $10,000 bail each and were released early Thursday morning. They are due in court on September 3. (MTV)
