Although Tip said he is not pursuing new talent, the “King of the South” also admitted it would take a superstar to make him consider putting a fresh deal on the table.

“There’s always room for phenomenal talent, man,” Tip told SOHH. “That’s exactly what it’s going to have to be. There ain’t no room for no mediocre motherf*ckers. You know what I’m saying? It’s going to have to be a phenomenal talent. He or she is going to have to be a hands-down, phenomenal star. You know? [That’s what’d it’d take] to garner my attention and take us away from what we’re already focused on. It’s going to have to be lightning in a bottle.” (SOHH)

Last spring, Grand Hustle’s B.o.B. talked to SOHH about his star-studded team.

“It’s definitely growing especially with Iggy, Chipmunk, we call him Chip, and Trae Tha Truth. Me and Trae have been cool for a minute. Every time I come to the city, he always looks out. Anyone who knows Trae knows he really looks out. It’s a really good vibe, a really good energy moving. I feel like that’s important because everyone can benefit from that. It’s just a really creative driving force. Even being in opposite areas of the country, you just have that drive which is everything.” (SOHH)

He also spoke on Iggy joining the Grand Hustle family earlier this year.

“She is an amazing attribution to the team. The first time I got into the studio with her, she struck me as a person who knew what she really wanted to do. She really had a strong vision. A lot of times, when you’re working with an artist who is fairly new to the industry on a major level, they may not know [what to do], but she really knows. We actually worked on a couple of songs and a couple of tracks. We’re definitely going to work a lot more in the future. With me being on the road with my album coming out, it’s just the scheduling and all that, but I’m excited! It’s definitely going to be great things and people are going to get to know her more and understand what makes her Iggy.” (SOHH)

Prior to signing to Interscope Records, buzzing rapper Chief Keef reportedly had an offer from Tip.

Chief Keef already told you what he don’t like, but Interscope Records, that’s that sh– he do like. On Saturday (June 16) just hours before he took the stage at Birthday Bash with T.I. the Chicago upstart inked a deal with Jimmy Iovine‘s label and gave RapFix the exclusive. “I’ve been talkin’ to a lot of labels, but I just noticed that Interscope got people like 50, Eminem,” Keef told us after he got off stage performing his breakout track, “I Don’t Like.” The teenage spitter also revealed that he signed a publishing deal with Dr. Dre. Keef was recruited by a few labels including Cash Money and T.I.’s Grand Hustle. (RapFix)
