[With the Akoo Clothing holiday collection series flying off retail outlet shelves, VP of Marketing Sabai Burnett tells SOHH how he sees the brand competing in 2016 and what big challenges they gracefully take on.]
We pride ourselves in being a full collection-based brand. We have something for you from your head down to your ankles.
The only thing we don’t do is footwear. We have socks, bottoms – shorts and denim, briefs, everything.
We have a full-fledged line. We’re not just giving you t-shirts and caps. That’s something that separates us from the rest.
We have something for every aspect of your life. If you just want to put on a cap, we got that. If you want to go hang out and turn up at the club, we got that. If you want to throw something on to run around on Saturday, we got that.
We make sure that for us we have a collection that is right for you.
We don’t feel like we get the credit for what we’ve been able to accomplish and where we are in the marketplace. That just comes from our desire to get better and better every year.
I don’t feel like we’re a household name yet. That’s on our chalkboard. We ask, ‘How do we get to that next point?’ That’s something that drives us.
We have to show up where the people are. We want our logo and that red flag to be recognizable no matter where you are. We’ve taken some great steps and believe we can keep getting better.
