[After treating fans to his recently released free The B.I.D. mixtape, Hustle Gang affiliate Spodee talks to SOHH about his new series.]
As far as relationships I have with people, it’s organic. Over the years, I’ve met these guys on my own.
I do have a great team. Big shout-outs to my homie [T.I.]. Big shout-outs to my team Defient. There’s things that I can’t handle or that might be out of reach for me and they can do it but all of my features come from me having relationships outside of the studio with these guys.
For these mixtapes, I wanted to have more features than I’ve had in the past. I wanted to have features outside of my camp that people wouldn’t necessarily expect me to have.
I think it did well because having features is important these days.
I have Yo Gotti on [The B.I.D.], but I haven’t had a chance to meet him. They put him on my song while I was locked up. We have some videos scheduled soon.
The B.I.D. is my third solo mixtape since 2011, which is actually not a lot. I am going to drop more mixtapes in a shorter amount of time because I am ready for that workload and I have a lot of songs now.
The B.I.D. is definitely going to be a series. My first series is No Pressure and I’m probably going to go back to that. I don’t know. I don’t want to say what I’m going to do on that.
Right now, I’m just focused on The B.I.D.
