According to Swizz, the track needed some additional fine tuning before it could drop.,

“‘Ye was trying to put it out the best way possible, to give it to the people,” Swizz explained of the delay that followed; the remix arrived a bit later than what Yeezy promised. “And then the day before, the last day, before the remix dropped, it just felt like the song needed to change up. I heard it changing up on something different, something that was already on the beat. And I was trying to explain it, but I didn’t want to go in too much because [Kanye] was writing his verse. But it sparked an idea.” (MTV)

The remix spread across the Internet last week.

Martin Louis the King Jr. powers up with the remix to his first single featuring the almighty Jay-Z, John Legend, and Swizz Beatz, who he called the greatest rap producer of all time. The hip-hop cash kings trade verses about their superstar status and dominance over the bombastic beat. Swizzy samples “The Power” by Snap! on the latter part of the remix and Yeezy reminds us that he has friends in high places. “Jay my big brother and B my little sister, and excuse me, but you can’t see my little sister,” he raps. Earlier this month, West revealed a “Power” remix was brewing.

During an appearance on US radio, West said he also intended to release a remix of current single ‘Power’ which features Jay-Z. He also confirmed that Q-Tip, Pete Rock and RZA had produced his new album. Asked what his credentials for finding the right producer were, West said: “People with that intangible sound.” (Gigwise)

The record was expected to drop a week prior following an interview with New York radio host Angie Martinez.

Kanye reveals that the “Power (Remix)” with Jay-Z will drop this Friday and says Nicki Minaj has the potential to be the “number-two rapper of all-time.” ‘Ye also address the long anticipated remix to his current single “Power” , featuring big brother Jay-Z. Although the Chi-Town rapper was tight-lipped about the song, he tell listeners that the remix will finally drop this Friday (August 13). (Hip Hop DX)
