Former Death Row Records owner Marion “Suge” Knight may have opened a new can of worms in the murder investigation of late hip-hop artist Tupac Shakur by claiming Diddy could be a suspect.

In an interview this week, Suge took ample shots at his notorious mid-1990’s music biz rival.

Suge Knight just fired a metaphorical shot at P. Diddy … telling us he’s a “bitch ass” who should be getting more heat for the murder of Tupac Shakur. Suge was leaving 1Oak last night when he unleashed a rant about Tupac’s death, saying … “Everybody know off the top, I ain’t the n**** killed Tupac. I’m the n**** protected Tupac!” Then he points a finger directly at Diddy — “Bitch ass Puffy can get him a mutha******* star, and every rat in the world say he’s the one who killed Tupac, or had him shot.” (TMZ)

Last fall, Knight detailed Pac’s love for classic soulful records.

“At that time, any time you got in my car, it was always old sh*t in my CD changer. Tupac would hop in my whips to go grab a broad or something. We’d be at the studio and he’d go grab the keys, hop in that mothaf*cka and drive and call back and be like “Hey, I’m in your car but why you don’t got no good music?” It would be Al Green, Sam Cooke, Donny Hathaway. I’d give sh*t to everybody [and] because everybody heard it so much, everybody took took a liking to it, and adopted it.” (Rolling Stone)

Houston rap veteran Scarface said his presence around Pac helped alleviate tensions last year.

“On my way back to Houston,” Face said when asked where he was when he learned Pac had been shot. “No, I’m lying, I was, uh, I was on a bus on my way back to Houston when I learned he got shot. Man, let me tell you something, man, when Pac got shot at the Quad Studios [in New York], I was right there in the DoubleTree [Hotel]. I know I would have been down there, you know what I’m saying? I would have been there. And it would have been a totally different scenario ’cause we were gonna die in that motherf*cker. You feel me? It’s like that. Like, ‘You not gonna f*ck with him, you not gonna f*ck with me.'” (“The Combat Jack Show”)

Face Mob took things a step further and claimed he could have saved Pac’s life.

“That sh*t probably wouldn’t have even happened. I think there’s a lot of sh*t that goes on that I say, ‘Man, I could have saved that boy if I was with him. I could have saved that headache.’ That’s with everybody. There’s a whole lot of sh*t people go through. I could save you from that sh*t. Mike Tyson was my homeboy back then, I could have saved him from that bullsh*t — I could have saved him from that bullsh*t.” (“The Combat Jack Show”)
