Dej Loaf made her late night debut yesterday (Nov. 24) on The Tonight Show with a little help from The Roots. Recently, Loaf revealed rap star Eminem’s pal Royce Da 5’9 reached out to her last summer about appearing on their “Detroit Vs. Everybody” track.

“He was like, ‘I got this record,’ and I wasn’t sure if they were gonna make it. He said it would be [a track] called Detroit vs. Everybody, but I didn’t know it was gonna be Eminem.” The song features Danny Brown, Big Sean, Royce da 5’9″ Trick Trick, and Dej. When we spoke, she hadn’t even heard the anthem yet. It’s still surreal to her. “What would you do,” she asks. “How would you feel?” (Metro Times)

The “Detroit vs. Everybody” record premiered online earlier this month.

Detroit stand up. Fresh off his SHADY CXVPHER, Eminem reps the Motor City on his new anthem “Detroit Vs. Everybody.” Marshall calls on fellow D-town natives Royce Da 5’9″, Big Sean, Danny Brown, DeJ Loaf, and Trick Trick for the Statik Selektah-produced track off the upcoming ShadyXV compilation. Earlier this month, Dej called Young Money’s Drake one of the biggest music-making artists in the rap game.

“Stuff travels so fast, man, it’s like word of mouth so it feels good you know when you got Drake quoting the lyrics. One of the best in the game period,” Loaf said in an interview. ” I feel like if you don’t Drake music, you’re a hater. He makes good music. Some people just come in and make great music. Drake is one of them—he hasn’t fumbled yet.” (Billboard)
