Atlanta rapper Soulja Boy Tell Em has fans scratching their heads after announcing plans to prepare for a trip to jail in the coming days.

While details are fuzzy, SB broke the big news to millions of Twitter followers over the weekend.

“5 more days until I go to jail. Appreciate everyone who was there for me while I needed y’all.,” SB tweeted February 15. (Soulja Boy Tell Em’s Twitter)

Last month, manager Miami Mike said Soulja Boy’s neighbor was really responsible for a gun turning up in his car and getting him arrested.

But Soulja’s manager, CEO Miami Mike claims a neighbor left the gun under the car seat and Soulja had no idea it was there. Further, he claims Soulja never admitted the weapon was his, and only told cops he owned the car. Mike claims officers told Soulja someone had to take responsibility for the weapon — but insists Soulja never copped to the gun … just the vehicle. We’re told Soulja believes the whole search was illegal because cops didn’t have probable cause. But here’s the thing … according to law enforcement sources the gun was in plain view — in which case officers wouldn’t need a search warrant. (TMZ)

Although brief with his words, SB acknowledged the headlines he sparked after being arrested a few days prior.

“Thanks for everyone who sent love and checked on me I appreciate we all good I’m gonna drop some music tonight! Sh*t crazy!!!,” SB tweeted January 24.

According to reports, the arrest went down in mid-January.

Soulja Boy was arrested in L.A. early this morning … after cops say he was packin’ a LOADED GUN, TMZ has learned. Law enforcement sources tell us … the 23-year-old rapper was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over in the San Fernando Valley for running a stop sign early Wednesday morning. During the stop, cops say they noticed that Soulja was in possession of a loaded gun — and arrested him on the stop. Soulja was hauled to a nearby jail — he’s currently being booked. Soulja has a history of run-ins with the law — he was busted for weed and weapons back in 2011. (TMZ)
