R&B singer Solange has plenty to brag about. The crooner’s new A Seat at the Table album has crushed its competition atop the sales chart.
According to reports, Solange’s new LP has earned her a first-ever number one debut.
A Seat at the Table launches with 72,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Oct. 6, according to Nielsen Music — a stronger-than-expected start. Of that sum, 46,000 were in traditional album sales. Bon Iver’s 22, A Million, bows at No. 2 with 71,000 units (58,000 in traditional album sales). (Billboard)
Earlier this week, Tina Knowles boasted about her daughter’s chart-dominating release.
Since its recent release, Solange’s album has blown critics away.
A Seat at the Table has been getting rave reviews from critics and celebrities alike. The fourth studio album from Knowles, it took the 30-year-old singer almost four years to complete. It boasts 21 tracks written by Solange, with special guests Lil Wayne, Kelela, Q-Tip, The-Dream, Dev Hynes, and Rowland. (People)
