West Coast rap veteran Snoop Dogg has announced plans to launch a 16-date nationwide tour beginning next month.

Snoop will reportedly be performing songs from his upcoming album Malice in Wonderland.

Snoop Dogg will hit the road this spring for a series of concerts in the Southern regions of the United States. The rapper kicks off his gigs May 1 in Jackson, MS with a scheduled stop at Manchester, TN’s Bonnaroo Festival. The tour stops include a May 17 date in Hilton Head, SC. The hip-hop icon is scheduled to release his next studio album later this year. Dogg will follow his U.S. tour this May with another leg of dates in July and August. (All Headline News)

Featuring show openers K’Naan and punk-reggae act Slightly Stoopid, Snoop will hit a variety of Southern cities.

Tour stops include Memphis, Little Rock, Houston, Dallas, St. Augustine, Norfolk, Charlotte, Greenville, Birmingham, Jackson, Raleigh, New Orleans, Panama City Beach, Charleston and Hiiton Head. (Press Release)

Following his tour, Snoop is billed to headline the 2009 Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee.

This year’s line-up includes Beastie Boys, Al Green, Erykah Badu, Bruce Springsteen, Phish, Snoop Dogg, Ben Harper, Santogold, Raphael Saadiq, The Knux and more artists will be announced for the June 11-14 Manchester concerts. (Bonnaroo)
