Slim Thugga claims his true opinions were misconstrued by the blog.

“I didn’t write the blog, [VIBE] called me and we did an interview over the phone,” he explained in an interview. “If you go to Vibe.com, they put up the actual audio of the interview and if you hear it like that you’ll understand…They kinda made it sound bad too how they was putting stuff together. They made it seem like I was putting white women over black women, that’s stupid…First of all I’ve never been in no relationship with no white woman, I’ve slept with a few, but that should tell you right there. Not saying I’m racist or I wouldn’t date a white woman, but I just never have so I couldn’t tell you the difference…I said ‘my brother dates a white woman’ and he’s always teasing me about the s**t I gotta go through with my black woman. What really pissed me off was the people trying to respond to me. If you know anything, why would you believe anything you just read? And for you to judge me and get so offensive, I got doctors and s**t calling. Whoever has status like that, lets debate about it, because a lot of the s**t I believe. I never said ‘all’ black women.” (All Hip Hop)

Thugga revealed his perception of women and their relationships with men in his blog post.

“My girl is Black and White. I guess the half White in her is where she still cooks and do all the sh*t that I say, so we make it. She just takes care of me and I like that. She don’t be begging and I don’t gotta buy her all this crazy a** sh*t…White women treat they man like a king and Black women feel like they ain’t gotta do that sh*t. Black women need to stand by their man more. Don’t always put the pressure of if I’m f*cking with you, you gotta buy me this and that. Black men are the ones that motherf*ckers need [but] I think a lot of them need to step it up too. A Black man who gets a little bread will go make it rain in the club and be broke the next day or instead of him going to invest in a business he gonna go buy new jewelry or a new car and still live in the hood. Black peoples’ mentality is real f*cked up in general [and] it’s affecting everything…Black women need to be more genuine and be more 50/50 [but] It should be a fair exchange in a relationship period or eventually somebody is gonna feel like they’re getting f*cked over whether it’s the woman or the man. I think that will help Black relationships out a lot.” (VIBE)

Following the blog post, New York rapper Talib Kweli came to the rapper’s defense.

“I think the people that are really angry are people who are taking the comments out of context and they’re not really reading the whole blog. And when the commenters are reading it, they’re really looking to see what’s wrong with it anyway. Somebody hit me online and said what they got from it is he hates them and I didn’t get that. What I got from the blog is here’s a man who’s confused about relationships and that wants to support the blackfamily and that wants to see black relationships doing good. And at the end of the day when you take out all the generalizations, he’s really saying that black men and black women have to have better communication and respect each other more. He’s calling everyone to task.” (VIBE)

In the past, Slim made headlines for dating R&B singer Letoya Luckett.

“I love it,” Slim Thug told AllHipHop.com in 2006. “You know I was with her the whole time she was making the album [ Letoya ], so I’m happy to see that what we were doing came out good. We used to be together, she was my girlfriend – so I wish her all of the success…She’s been working hard. She’s on tour right now with Mary J. Blige. She’s Houston too, we all gotta represent right.” (Juicy News)
