[With his new Statik Selekath collaborative album, Statik KXNG, finally available, Slaughterhouse’s KXNG Crooked speaks to SOHH about continuing to evolve as a rap veteran.]

I’m still evolving and I feel like I’m still evolving. I feel like there’s still so much more that I want to offer hip-hop as a whole.

I’m dedicating the next 10 years of my life to trying to create platforms for up-and-coming artists, musically, visually, content-wise.

I have a big plan. I sat down and wrote everything down and I’m sticking to it. That’s part of the evolution of Crooked, of myself.

You have to constantly learn. You have to constantly strive to be better. You have to constantly try to increase your impact.

All of that is cool and that’s what I’m doing for myself, but as I start going into the future, I have to start understanding there’s a lot of things bigger than me in hip-hop.

One of those things is trying to create these platforms. I’m out here just evolving. I think everybody needs to evolve. I think we need to strive to get better and better and, more importantly, try to help the next generation.
