Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West is putting in that work back on U.S. soil. The hip-hop stud has returned from a publicized Japan trip and is taking no days off.

A pic has surfaced of Yeezy back in work mode at his Los Angeles-area job.

Last week, buzz developed about Kanye potentially releasing a secret album with longtime pal Kid Cudi.

According to a source, the new project is so secret, “they’re going to drop some crazy collaboration out of the blue,” an insider told us. “They’re going to drop some surprise project on everybody. They’re recording it now.” They’re keeping the lid so tight that “nobody knows what it is — or what it sounds like . . . There are no professionals in the room. It’s just Cudi, Kanye and an engineer. They’re recording together in Japan.” (Page Six)

Earlier this month, Cudder and Kanye sparked social media’s attention during a Japan visit.

The rumours of a possible collaboration were also fuelled last week when Japanese artist Takashi Murakami shared a photo of the two visiting his studio in Los Angeles. (NME)

Coincidentally, Kid Cudi previously went at Kanye during a live concert.

In 2016, Kid Cudi took to Twitter to express his frustrations with West, his longtime mentor and collaborator. On stage on his Saint Pablo Tour, Kanye responded: “Don’t never mention ’Ye name…I birthed you.” Shortly after the exchange, Kanye checked into the hospital “for his own health and safety,” and Cudi announced that he had checked himself into rehab “for depression and suicidal urges.” (The FADER)
