Seattle Seahawks’ DJ DV One recently talked about getting the team fired up with endless hits and why quarterback Russell Wilson‘s publicized romance with R&B singer Ciara has made things tough.

According to DV One, CiCi’s publicized split with rap star Future has had an impact on what he plays around the squad.

“Among the players, last year it was Drake and Rick Ross. This year, I’ve been getting a lot of requests for Future. But that dynamic is weird too, because I can barely play Future with Ciara running around and that’s her baby’s dad. It’s just that he has a dope-ass album out right now, players like to hear it, it definitely gets you pumped up — even though it’s low-tempo, it’s still stuff that you want to hear — and then you’ve got Ciara running up with little baby Future and she’s dating Russell so it’s like, “Oh f—.”” (Billboard)

Not only awkward with Future hits, DV also acknowledged his issues with playing CiCi’s tunes.

“I also feel weird playing Ciara, because I was playing Ciara before she started dating Russell. I’d play “Goodies” and stuff like that for the crowd because it’s mainstream — it’s dance-y music, it’s popular, it’s stuff that you can get away with playing. Now that she’s dating Russell, I don’t want people to be like, “He’s just playing that because she’s dating Russell.” (Billboard)

Ciara, who famously gave birth to Future’s son, addressed the critics mad at her for allowing Russell around their child last month.

“It’s been very interesting to hear what a lot of guys have had to say. And I feel like in a sense it’s a bit of a double standard because at one point in time when we were together, I took care of his kids as well. … Wouldn’t you want someone to love on the child, and more than anything, it is a child we’re talking about. That’s the thing people have to think about—remove the adult from the situation. This is my child here and that’s serious.” (“CBS This Morning”)

Future recently ripped Ciara for having their son around Wilson.

“Of course I wouldn’t want nobody to push my son. That’s the number one rule. If I was a kid and my mom had a dude pushing me, I would have jumped out the stroller and slapped the sh*t out of him. You never do that in our community. You don’t even bring a man around your son. You’ve only known this dude for a few months and you bringing him around your kid? Who does that? Nobody does that. He probably didn’t know, she set him up. You got nannies, assistants, think about it, pushing around that stroller. Anybody could have been pushing that stroller and you let [the media] take pictures. You know what it is but at the end of the day, I’m not for the publicity stunts. Leave my son out of all the publicity stunts. Just leave him out of your relationship because we don’t need your relationship for anything. I can take him on my own. I don’t need any help.” (“The Breakfast Club”)
