Music mogul Dr. Dre is going to have a busy 2015 after reportedly adding rap newcomer Justin Mohrle to the Aftermath Records roster.
According to reports, the Doc has worked with Mohrle since last year and even relocated him from Texas to California.
In a story with Dallas-based D Magazine, a Texas-based rapper named Justin Mohrle is said to be Dre’s newest discovery and protégé. In a detailed profile of Justin, it is revealed that he has permanently relocated from Dallas to LA to work with Dre on a few projects, although he is forbidden to pinpoint what they are exactly. Justin recently revealed being able to meet up with Doc on a daily basis.
“Do you miss Dallas?” I ask Mohrle from the back seat. “Kind of,” he says in a careful tone, from behind the wheel. “I like the weather here better, but I miss my family. I’m not worried about making friends, because he’s moving out here soon.” He gestures to Biggars. “I’ve always kept a pretty small circle.” He pauses again, thinking of home. “But I get to work with Dr. Dre every day, so not really.” (D Magazine)
Their relationship stemmed from Justin’s relationship with Texas native D.O.C.
Dre and JT connected thanks to former Death Row Records artist and Dallas native D.O.C., who initially signed him to a 360 deal with his label before shipping out his original demo to Dre. (Complex)
