West Coast rapper Too Short has joined the flurry of hip-hop artists behind bars this week, including DMX and Young Thug, for deciding to opt out of a probation deal for a three-month sentence.
According to reports, Short avoided another probation term for a DUI arrest two years ago this week and, instead, chose metal bars.
Short struck a very sweet deal in which he avoided jail and simply had to complete community service and spend 3 years on probation. It’s a great deal because he had multiple DUIs on his record. But Short came up short today in court because he didn’t complete his community service. The judge offered him more time, provided he’d agree to 3 more years of probation, but Short was sick of being monitored, so he told the judge he’d rather serve time.
Short got his wish, and he’s now in the first day of a 90-day sentence. (TMZ)

Coincidentally, Atlanta rapper Young Thug found himself in handcuffs today (July 15) in Georgia.
The 22-year-old rapper, whose birth name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, was arrested without incident around 6 a.m. at a residence in Sandy Springs, according to Jim Joyner, spokesman for the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force. The U.S. Marshals were helping Dunwoody police serve a warrant charging Williams with terroristic threats. (Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
