Houston rap veteran Scarface has stepped forward to clear the air on his publicized arrest earlier this month during the BET Hip-Hop Awards taping in Georgia.

Face Mob released a statement this week and said he resolved the legal matter.

First and foremost I would like to thank my supporters for their concern during my recent arrest in Atlanta. While we have resolved the issue I would like to correct some misinformation. The amount reported that was owed is inaccurate and I had no knowledge about there being an arrest order for me as I have traveled to Atlanta many times; with the latest trip being in September to perform at the One Music Festival. Due to the nature of the case (having a minor child involved), I will make no further comment at this time. -Brad Jordan AKA Scarface Mr. Jordan was released on Friday, October 16th. (Statement)

Buzz about Scarface’s arrest lit up the Internet earlier this month.

The rapper was at the BET Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta Friday night, having just accepted the I Am Hip-Hop Award, when cops descended on him, placing him under arrest. Turns out there’s an outstanding warrant against Scarface for unpaid child support. He was taken to Fulton County Jail. He was still there as of Sunday AM, according to the jail. (TMZ)

Scarface appeared at the annual awards show to accept an “I AM Legend” honor.

Scarface was truly pleased and so thankful for his fans for supporting his career throughout the years. He graciously accepted the “I AM Legend Award” and was very vocal about being full of gratitude and love for Hip Hop and his many fans.. It was truly inspiring to see someone in the industry who is truly humble and full of gratitude because so many lack that trait in this industry. (Freddy-O)

Fellow Southern hip-hop veteran Ludacris presented him with the award.

Ludacris presented Scarface with the “I Am Hip-Hop” award, calling him one of “hip-hop’s best storytellers.” A humbled Scarface acknowledged his peers while accepting the award. “I’m not sh*t without y’all,” said the Houston legend, who joins past recipients Rakim, LL Cool J, Salt-N-Pepa, and Ice Cube.
