In a recent Twitter post, rappers Saucy Santana and Trina teased a new music video that encourages fans to register to vote.
The two Florida natives teamed up and pushed their pens to get fans to register to vote in the upcoming midterm elections
The song is fun, high energy, catchy, and memorable, and introduces a modern take on the importance of voting.
Using the popular Black dating app, BLK, they reveal the importance of voting to the younger generation with a relatable message.
The music video begins with Saucy Santana stepping into a rally where he sings the chorus and engages future supporters.
The clip also jumps to people using the BLK app to find a match. However, they find out that their potential partner does not vote.
Non-voting is a deal breaker, so they swipe left. Thereafter, each person heads to the polls to cast their vote.
Another scene shows the “Get That Bag” artist in a supreme court gown, saying if a man does not vote, he will get no love from him.
The video then transitions into the “Look Back At Me” rapper in the Oval Office, spitting her verse. It also shows people getting registered to vote and swiping on the BLK app.
As the visuals close out with one of the main characters getting intimate with an unidentified individual, an “I Voted” sticker is placed on his forehead with a special link to a website where fans can register to vote online.
The “You Can’t Kill Me” rapper is known for using colorful lyrics and having an in-your-face attitude. This is especially in songs like “Booty” and “I’m Too Much.”
In addition, the “Single Again” artist embodies the “you’re gonna hear what I got to say” mentality, which comes off in her flow and stage presence.
The midterm elections are on November 8.
