New York rapper Safaree Samuels isn't about switching it up. The "Love & Hip Hop" star went online to voice his frustrations with the company responsible for beloved toy Mr. Potato Head adjusting its packaging to become more gender neutral.
Safaree Questions Mr. Potato Head Change
Although the final details of the name change are a little confusing, Safaree took to Twitter with his thoughts. He questioned the move and asked for names. SS wanted to know who came up with that idea and low-key roasted the switch, which will reportedly just be making the “Mr.” or “Mrs.” designation smaller at the bottom of product packaging.
Hasbro created confusion Thursday when it announced that it would drop the “Mr.” from the brand’s name in order to be more inclusive and so all could feel “welcome in the Potato Head world.” It also said it would sell a new playset this fall without the Mr. and Mrs. designations that will let kids create their own type of potato families, including two moms or two dads. But in a tweet later that afternoon, Hasbro clarified that while the brand is changing, the actual Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head characters will still live on and be sold in stores. In a picture posted on Twitter, the “Mr.” and “Mrs.” names are less prominently displayed at the bottom of the box, instead of the top.
“Mr potato head is reaching. your a potato nigga what the helll you mean your gender neutral, 😂😂😂😂 who the hell be coming up with these ideas 30 years later 😩😩🤣🤣😂😂”
Erica Mena Destroys Safaree’s Image
“Love & Hip Hop” star Erica Mena and Safaree Samuels appear done-done. The previously inseparable couple had social media’s complete attention this week after declaring their marriage one of the biggest mistakes of their lives and careers. Mena went to her Twitter page with some since-deleted tweets. She ripped apart Safaree for relying on social media to handle his personal feelings and agreed with his initial comment about their marriage being a bad move.
“Since you always run to social media like a little girl I might as well join in. I absolutely agree with you on this. You are the most selfish, vain and inconsiderate person. And not just with me but your only daughter!”
“Out of RESPECT for my daughter and to honor my growth as a woman. I’m going to get back to doing what I do best. Make money and be only about my business. Entertaining social media with my issues isn’t my thing.”
Prior to these tweets, Safaree shocked the Internet by completely bodying the concept of marriage.
“I mean this from the bottom of my heart getting married was 1 of my BIGGEST mistakes and it will never happen again. I’m walking away before I End up in jail over some dumb sh*t. Nobody is worth my freedom!!!”
Happier Times Together
Over the past few months, both Safaree and Erica have shared their affection for one another on social media. Mena has lit up her Instagram page with tons of gushy moments.
The Baby Weight Discussion
After a recent conversation with his wife and vixen Erica Mena, social media went after him over controversial comments. Although this discussion has been visited on “Love & Hip Hop” before, the couple talked about whether or not they wanted more kids. While Mena was game for it, Safaree had something else to say. He asked that somebody else carry the child, which Mena prefaced by revealing Safaree didn’t like her pregnancy weight gain.
“But tell them why you don’t want another one. Cause I got ‘too big’ during my pregnancy… You say it all the time. You mentioned my stomach afterwards. You said, ‘You got too big, I got too big. I don’t want to be fat, again.’ That’s what you said.”
