New York rapper Safaree Samuels can dry his tears and help police lock up a pair of robbery suspects for good. New reports claim cops have nabbed a couple of men possibly connected to the hip-hop artist's publicized gunpoint robbery.
According to reports, the bust went down yesterday (April 2) after Safaree’s New Jersey robbery as cops went after the alleged criminals from George Washington Bridge into the Big Apple.
We’re told police were in hot pursuit following the alleged robbery in Fort Lee, NJ. Cops followed them over the bridge, and at one point the suspects crashed their car and fled on foot. NYPD joined the search before Jonathan Ricketts and Shawn Harewood were captured about 12 blocks apart. 12:26 PM PT — According to cops, Safaree claims he was robbed of around $183,000 of cash and jewelry. Yesterday, Safaree sparked headlines after announcing he had been robbed before an interview.
“Um, I just got robbed at gunpoint. A couple hours ago. I just got robbed. Two dudes with guns ran up on me. They had me face down on the floor with a gun to my head. They just took everything.” (“The Angie Martinez Show”)
A few weeks ago, Safaree talked about learning ex-girlfriend Nicki Minaj kissed rapper Nas when he briefly stepped away at her “Right By My Side” video shoot in 2012.
“I was there,” Safaree initially said when asked about Nicki Minaj and Nas kissing in the “Right By My Side” video in 2012. “You wanna know what’s so crazy? I didn’t know what happened until the video came out. I ain’t gonna lie. N*gga, I was hurt when that sh*t happened because before that I was able to be like, ‘Yeah, okay, cool. Last month, Safaree admitted his manhood may have ultimately forced Nicki to stay with him.
“I don’t know, how do you know if she even knows or not? The funny thing is, she used to always say to me that, ‘If you didn’t have that thing I would have been left you.’ She would be cracking up laughing when she said it to me. I definitely do not want to do porn but some porn company reached out too. I don’t understand these people. Something leaks and then you guys want to ask the guy [to do porn].
