Wu-Tang Clan leader RZA has come forward to reveal how serious Raekwon's lack of involvement in the group's upcoming A Better Tomorrow could have on the LP reaching the masses.

According to Bobby Digital, there are two possibilities if the Chef does not take part in the forthcoming release.

“I haven’t said this publicly but let me say this,” RZA explained in an interview. “The album is slated to come out in July. If we don’t come to terms I think within the next 30 days, then this will have to be an album without Raekwon or it’ll never see the light of day and that’s a very strong potential because I would not want to put out a Wu-Tang album without every alive member available. I can’t put Ol’ Dirty on it because he’s not here physically.” (Sports Illustrated)

RZA also looked at the bright side in the case A Better Tomorrow never makes it to store shelves.

“At the same time I don’t want the fans not to have this incredible music we’ve been working on for the last year. So that’s gonna be a tough decision but we got about 30 days to come to that decision or conclusion. Either way it goes, the sad part would be if it goes the way it doesn’t come out. I would be very disappointed but I know that Wu-Tang legacy has already made a great mark on the world.” (Sports Illustrated)

Recently, the Wu head said a big misunderstanding had torn Rae from him.

“I’m gonna clear one thing up on the Raekwon thing. The newest article in Rolling Stone, Raekwon says I’m a bold-faced liar, right, which I’m far from. I don’t even lie. I’m a grown man, I got children. I only got one rule in my house, ‘Don’t lie to me.’ But what happened was I just did an interview a few weeks ago that ‘just’ came out. Later. I guess when it came out he read it. I spoke to Raekwon about eight days ago but the interview was probably fourteen or sixteen days ago, so he says RZA’s a liar, he spoke to me. No, when I did the interview, brother, I didn’t speak to you. I hadn’t spoke to him in six months before then until recently. … He gave me his demands, which we presented to the company – but it was no lying.” (“The Hot 97 Morning Show”)

In an interview published last week, Rae said Bobby Digital needed to come up with a winning strategy for the Wu.

“RZA’s the type of dude where, in the 90s, he ruled. Now it’s a new day. You’re not attached no more. It’s like being a coach and you won rings back in the day, but now your team is in ninth place. It’s time for a new f*cking game plan. I sit here with integrity all the time. When it comes to my music. When it comes to my business. When it comes to the fans. I’m always going to give them the best of me. And I know the Wu-Tang Clan is built like that, but if they’re sitting there listening to one man, ain’t no “I” in “Team.”” (Rolling Stone)
