Def Jam co-founder Russell Simmons can breathe a little easier right now. New reports claim the hip-hop mogul no longer has to worry about a publicized $5 million sexual assault lawsuit.
According to a report, filmmaker Jennifer Jarosik is no longer pursuing the hefty suit again Simmons.
The aspiring filmmaker suing Russell Simmons for an alleged sexual assault has dropped her claims, according to a stipulation of dismissal filed Wednesday. Jennifer Jarosik in January filed a $5 million lawsuit against the mogul, alleging he raped her in 2016 after inviting her to his home under the guise of discussing a documentary project. Recently, New York rapper 50 Cent clowned reality star Luann de Lesseps for a Simmons sexual harassment claim.
In a recent interview, Luann said Russell sexually harassed her in an elevator a few years ago.
“He grabbed my ass in an elevator, he was just a pig,” de Lesseps said. “I haven’t told anybody about that before. I was grossed out. I was like ‘How dare you.’ He invaded me, he took advantage of me, being who he is, thinking he is all ‘it,’ all everything. He thought he could just do that.
