Common was great. He’s the nicest person in the world. It’s very great to have him play such a bad a** and he worked really hard with the stunt team to work out his moves to sort of become this predator-type guy.

It feels and is a character from another movie. In this movie, there’s not enough bad a** people to take care of Liam [Neeson] so we’re gonna bring in a character from another movie [like The Terminator] and take him to you.

I wish I could see the movie with just Common in that role.

He has a couple lines. There was one line cut when Liam is pointing at him with Joel [Kinnaman] with a gun and the reason why we cut it, and it was a great line from Common, but if on top of that he speaks, you should just shoot him.

It’s one of those audience moments where you’re just like, “Shoot him!”

Not just because he didn’t have lines doesn’t mean we didn’t work with him and have a backstory with his demeanor outside the world. I wish we could have.

We had talked about, “Should we show more of him?” But the movie just takes over. I wish he could have been introduced because of all the work we did and it was such a great role.
