The company known for global hits like Red Dead Redemption and L.A. Noire released a statement heading into the weekend on when fans will get their hands on the hot title.

“We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time. GTAV is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require. To all Grand Theft Auto fans, please accept our apologies for the delay, and our promise that the entire team here is working very hard to make the game all it can be. We are doing all we can to help ensure it will meet if not exceed your expectations come September – we thank you for your support and patience.” (IGN)

If all goes accordingly, GTA fanatics will be introduced to a slew of polished features and new characters come this September.

Don’t rev those engines just yet: our much-anticipated return to Los Santos will have to wait a little longer, as Rockstar co-founder Sam Houser announced this week that GTA’s fifth instalment won’t be released this spring after all. The game’s newly confirmed on-sale date will be September 17, to allow for some extra development time, ensuring what Houser says will be the series’ “deepest, most beautiful and most immersive world yet.” As previously reported, Grand Theft Auto V will see three brand new characters stealing cars, robbing banks… and realigning their chakras at yoga (the latter in a new mini-game option). That’s the West Coast lifestyle for you. (GG Magazine)

West Coast rapper Game is reportedly slated to make a return to the popular franchise in GTA V.

The GTA 5 release date for Xbox 360 and PS3 is fast approaching. Rockstar has confirmed the game’s launch for spring 2013, and the latest rumor is that rapper “The Game” may show up to the next “Grand Theft Auto” party. Will “The Game” play a feature role when the GTA 5 release date arrives. We can’t say anything for sure, but some new fan art released by the Money Gang Facebook page. What role will “The Game” play in GTA 5 when the release date arrives? Well we already know that “The Alchemist” has been brought on to compose a soundtrack that will play during missions. However, it’s possible that “The Game” could be featured in the GTA 5 soundtrack. It’s also possible that either the rapper of all of “Money Gang” may get their own “Grand Theft Auto” radio station. Recently, fellow West Coast hip-hop artist Alchemist’s name was also attached to the game.

A returning rapper may be composing an original music score for the upcoming multiplatform title, “GTA 5.” According to a report by Pinoy Tutorial today, Alan Daniel Maman, who goes by the stage name of Alchemist, posted a message on Twitter (that has since been deleted) revealing that he will be working with Rockstar Games to make a new song specifically for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 video game. The rapper’s music tracks previously appeared in “Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars.” (Examiner)
