R&B singer Robin Thicke has come forward to speak out. The crooner issued a statement Wednesday (December 14) to address his father Alan Thicke‘s death.

Robin went to Instagram to confirm reports about Thicke’s passing and to dish on how much he meant to him.

Yesterday (December 13) reports claimed Robin’s dad suffered a fatal heart attack.

Thicke reportedly suffered a heart attack while playing hockey with one of his sons. He was taken to a Los Angeles area hospital where he was pronounced dead. He is survived by his wife Tanya and sons Brennan, Carter and the pop star Robin Thicke. (Rolling Stone)

The veteran actor is most known for starring in the family show “Growing Pains.”

Growing Pains aired on ABC for seven seasons, from September 1985 to April 1992. Thicke played Jason Seaver, a psychiatrist who works from home. Joanna Kerns portrayed his wife and Kirk Cameron, Tracey Gold, Jeremy Miller and Ashley Johnson were their kids. In the last season, Leonardo DiCaprio appeared as a homeless teen who moves in with the family. The series reached as high as No. 5 in the ratings. (The Hollywood Reporter)
