R&B singer Robin Thicke reportedly has new music on deck and will attempt to win back his estranged Hollywood wife Paula Patton at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards. #StillStandingStillStrong
Details of Thicke’s ode to his movie star wife have surfaced online this week.
TMZ has obtained a copy of the lyrics for the new song — called “Get Her Back” — and the whole thing is dripping with regret over his split from Paula Patton. Some highlights: — “All I wanna do is make it right” — “I gotta get her, go get her back / I gotta treat her right / I gotta cherish her for life” — “I should’ve kissed you longer / I should’ve held you stronger / And I’ll wait for forever for you.” (TMZ)
Paula recently admitted always having a special place in her heart for Thicke.
Patton grew up in Los Angeles, where she met Thicke, her life partner of two decades, at an 18-and-under nightclub when she was 15 and he was 14. Before their first kiss, he sang Jodeci’s “Forever My Lady” to her in his dad Alan’s living room. “He wasn’t my first kiss,” says Patton, “but he was my first lots of other things.” … Will the couple remain apart? Patton says only, “We’ve known each other since we were teenagers. All I can tell you is there’s a deep love there–always was, and always will be.” (Vanity Fair)
Footage of Thicke speaking on their marital status bubbled online in February.
Robin Thicke wants the world to know that he’s lost without Paula Patton. During the first concert since announcing his split from his wife, the R&B crooner dedicated a song called “Lost Without You” for the “2 Guns” actress. “For y’all that don’t know me and my wife separated, but I’m trying to get my girl back,” the 36-year-old entertainer told the crowd at his Thursday, February 27 show in Fairfax, Virginia. “She’s a good woman.” (Ace Showbiz)
The couple announced their shocking break-up via a statement in mid-February.
Paula Patton and Robin Thicke are ending their longtime marriage. “We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time,” the couple tell PEOPLE on Monday in an exclusive statement. The pair, who first met when Thicke was 14, have been married since 2005 and welcomed son Julian Fuego in April 2010. The singer, 36, long had been very expressive about his marriage to the actress, 38, saying last fall, “We’re pretty sure we’ve loved each other for a few lives.” (People)
