Grammy-winning singer Rihanna has a right to be upset with CBS and the NFL following a public rant this week as new reports claim she never gave permission to be involved in football broadcasts.
According to reports, RiRi is upset over her name being dragged into the “Run This Town” NFL broadcast promotion.
Sources connected with Rihanna tell TMZ … the singer was pissed when someone sent her the joint NFL/CBS press release last week, with the headline, “CBS & NFL Network ‘Run This Town’ for Thursday Night Football Open with Music Featuring Rihanna & Narration by Don Cheadle.” In fact Rihanna never did anything special for the game … all CBS/NFL did was license a Jay Z song that featured Rihanna. RiRi hopped onto social media to lash out over the song being omitted from last week’s “Thursday Night Football” game and having it slated to return.
CBS you pulled my song last week, now you wanna slide it back in this Thursday? NO, Fuck you! Y'all are sad for penalizing me for this.

Reports claimed CBS and the NFL want to bring back the track for this week’s broadcast.

RiRi and music mogul Jay Z’s “Run This Town” had their hit song shot down for last week’s Baltimore Ravens game.
The chairman of CBS Sports, which will simulcast the game, told Sports Illustrated that the broadcasters weren’t overreacting to the scandal over the NFL’s reaction to the Ray Rice incident. “We thought … we needed to have the appropriate tone and coverage,” Sean McManus said. “A lot of the production elements we wanted in the show are being eliminated because of time or tone.” (KSPR News)
