Grammy-winning singer Rihanna should be able to sleep a bit easier these days as a recent trespasser is now behind bars and will have to undergo mental health treatment.
According to reports, RiRi’s request for a restraining order against a Los Angeles man has now turned into multiple punishments.
Here’s a good lesson: don’t creep around Rihanna’s roof … or you’ll find yourself in a buttload of trouble. TMZ broke the story … Rihanna obtained a restraining order against a man named Robert Melanson after he was captured skulking around her roof on June 17th. In addition to being hit with a restraining order, Melanson was charged with criminal trespassing. Now the buttload of trouble part — Melanson pled no contest this week to the trespassing charge, and was subsequently sentenced to time served in jail (6 days), 3 years probation, $344 in fines, and one year of mental health treatment. A man was charged on Tuesday with trespassing at the home of Grammy-winning singer Rihanna. Robert Melanson, 26, was taken into custody Monday night after private security guards spotted him on the roof of Rihanna’s Pacific Palisades home, according to arresting officers. The guards held Melanson until officers arrived. Rihanna was not at home at the time of the incident, police said. (KTLA News)
RiRi has experienced numerous similar incidents throughout this year.
Monday was just the most recent in a series of incidents that have drawn the LAPD to the singer’s home. In April, a caller reported gunshots inside the house. In February, a man pleaded guilty to breaking into Rihanna’s home and sleeping in a bed he thought was hers. (Los Angeles Times)
The singer is reportedly sleeping alone these days after a publicized break-up with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown a few weeks ago.
Those who wondered if something was up with Chris Brown and Rihanna after she was unable to join him on his May 5 birthday might have been right! In a new interview with the Australian radio station 2DayFM, Chris admitted that he was split from RiRi and flying solo. “I’mma do it solo,” Chris told the Aussie DJ. The R&B singer seems to intimate that his and Rihanna’s schedules unfortunately got in the way of their relationship, and that her inability to make it to his birthday celebrations may have been a factor too: “I mean, at the end of the day, shawty doing her own thing, she on the road. It’s always gonna be love. I’m a grown man, just gotta move forward.” Though Chris said he is “always gonna love” Rihanna, he talked about how he’s more focused on himself right now. “People have differences and people have different wants and needs,” he says. “At the end of the day she’s a young girl. I can’t be focused on wife-ing somebody that young… and I’m young too.” (Hollywood Life)
