Roc Nation princess Rihanna may have experienced a meltdown prior to canceling her performance at The 58th Grammy Awards ceremony this week.
According to reports, issues with her rehearsal sparked RiRi’s ultimate decision to fall back on performing.
Sources connected with the show and several sources who were not connected but present at the show tell TMZ … the singer was loudly expressing displeasure over her rehearsal. They say she was loud and upset and, as we first reported, bailed on the event. Rihanna’s people say she had a medical issue … bronchitis that was so bad she could not perform and that’s why she left. Sources close to RiRi tell us she was too upset to stay and watch the show. Initial reports claimed medical issues caused RiRi’s performance cancellation.
Rihanna was M.I.A. at the 2016 Grammys (Feb. 15) after canceling her performance due to bronchitis per doctor’s orders, Billboard can confirm. She was slated to sing “Kiss It Better,” the smooch-y jam off her recent release Anti, for the 58th annual ceremony. Her rep says that the singer’s doctor put her on vocal rest for 48 hours because she “was at risk of hemorrhaging her vocal cords.” Rihanna had been taking antibiotics for three days, though the meds “did not kill the infection adequately.” (Billboard)
Earlier in the month, the R&B diva confirmed her Grammy plans on social media.
