Houston rapper Riff Raff has the Internet in an uproar after publicly calling out Hot 97, specifically program director Ebro, for allegedly cheating him out of a contest.
Raff relied on Twitter to unleash his frustrations toward the renowned radio station after losing in a battle of the beats with fellow musician Ashanti.

Never one to back down, Ebro used the opportunity to speak out and dismiss Riff’s claims.

Ebro also addressed the situation on the “Hot 97 Morning Show” Wednesday (December 18).
“This started yesterday. A new Riff Raff [beef] – he claims I chated him in Battle of the Beats. I don’t even pick the songs in Battle of the Beats. I don’t oversee it, I don’t have anything to do with it. However, I can stop anything from happening on this box. I don’t think he understands that. The fact I’m bringing his name up, the fact I brought him into this radio station to begin with, the fact that I let Rosenberg pick his song for Battle of the Beats, the fact I let Cipha Sounds spin it, I didn’t have nothing to do with it. That’s how stupid he is. I honestly thing, at this point, he either has brain damage of some sort, like he’s slow, or he is a drug addict.” (Hot 97)
The program direct claimed Ashanti’s fans likely made a last-minute push and ultimately helped her win the battle over Riff.
“The battle doesn’t close until 8:30 PM,” Ebro added. “I don’t know where he got 5 PM from but somehow in 3 hours, Ashanti got her fans together and they made their post. I don’t know what happened. So anyway, he started going on this thing. Now of course when he acted like he wanted to knuckle up, the old man, I don’t play those games.” (Hot 97)
