Maybach Music Group leader Rick Ross is out here making sure #FreeMeekMill remains a trending topic. Yung Renzel has hit up social media to show support for his jailed protégé.
Ricky Rozay went to Instagram Saturday (April 21) to use a pic of late boxing icon Muhammad Ali to rally for Meek Mill.
According to a new report, Meek absolutely believes he should have had his case immediately dismissed on Friday.
Meek tells TMZ … he’s thankful 3 other people’s cases were dismissed at the urging of the Philly D.A., and says there are 105 more cases like theirs and his involving the same corrupt cop. Meek feels his case should have been dismissed like the other 3, but his judge decided it should wait for a hearing in June … so that’s what he has to do. (TMZ)
Mill’s legal team thinks his predicament is fully connected to Judge Genece Brinkley‘s alleged vendetta against him.
Meek’s lawyer, Brian McMonagle, tells us … this decision is just another example of Judge Brinkley’s bias toward him and “inequitable treatment.” He says there’s no reason for Meek’s case to be delayed for 60 days when the D.A. agrees he should be free until he gets a new trial. The only reason for the judge’s decision — according to Meek’s team — is her vendetta against him. And just to reiterate … even prosecutors agree he should be released on bail while his appeals are considered. (TMZ)
Earlier this week, New York radio personality Angie Martinez revealed what she learned from talking to Meek’s camp.
“The judge said, ‘We’ll have to have a hearing to decide.’ She schedules that for 60 days from now. So he has to wait 60 days so he can go through this again. Now there’s 83 cases that are now up for trying to figure out what’s going on here because of this one cop who put all these people away. So all these people go on Friday. All of the cases, I think 83 in total, 82 of them go sit to this other higher judge. They will go on Friday to see if their cases will get thrown away. Everybody are speculating that a lot of these people are just gonna walk on Friday but not Meek. He’s the only one of the 83 that has to go back to the original same judge in 60 days to review this all over again. So Meek’s team has now put in an emergency motion to go to a higher court to say this is crazy. Even the DA is saying this cop’s dirty. You can’t keep people inside and they only reason they’re there is because of this one cop. There are other things like if they got caught with 20 keys and the cop, then they might still be there. But if they’re only there because of this cop, then we have to look at this. That’s what I got today. So Friday it’ll be interesting to see because all of those other cases go to the judge, the other judge, not Meek’s personal judge. Everybody but Meek goes to another judge to see if they get overturned. Prayers up for Meek.” (“The Angie Martinez Show”)
