We owe it to our children and our teachers to keep them safe while at school. Prayers won't do this: action will. Congress, please do your job and protect Americans from senseless gun violence

Earlier this morning, @NRA re-tweeted a tweet from a gun maker encouraging people to buy their loved ones guns for #ValentinesDay
Since the #schoolshooting in Florida they've deleted that tweet and have gone silent.
Thankfully, I took a screenshot. pic.twitter.com/cC4A835n0a

One shoe bomber tried to blow up a plane and now we are forced to take off our shoes.
1606 mass shootings since Sandy Hook Elementary School and Congress has done NOTHING.

Since yesterday, President Donald Trump has shared his insight on the shooting’s aftermath.
So many signs that the Florida shooter was mentally disturbed, even expelled from school for bad and erratic behavior. Neighbors and classmates knew he was a big problem. Must always report such instances to authorities, again and again!

Just spoke to Governor Rick Scott. We are working closely with law enforcement on the terrible Florida school shooting.

My prayers and condolences to the families of the victims of the terrible Florida shooting. No child, teacher or anyone else should ever feel unsafe in an American school.

The headline-generating shooting went down on Valentine’s Day and left nearly 20 people dead.
The suspect, Nikolas Cruz, 19, allegedly gunned down students and staff with a rifle at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland shortly before 3 p.m. after activating a fire alarm, sending people outside unaware of what was to come, officials said. He fired shot after shot outside and then followed others running back inside the building, where people who’d heard the shots were taking shelter, officials said. (CNN)
