Maybach Music Group's Rick Ross isn't putting respect on 50 Cent's name right now. The hip-hop heavyweight has shut down the idea of doing a Verzuz battle against his former rival and explained why it's a wrap - music-wise - for the G-Unit boss.
Rick Ross Slams 50 Cent’s Music Career
In a new interview, Yung Renzel downplayed the idea of having to face-off against Curtis Jackson in a music battle. Despite Fifty having a slew of hits, Ross said 50 hasn’t been able to make quality tunes in recent years.
“Would it really be entertaining? Music-wise? I’m a real dude. 50 Cent had some huge records when he had the biggest producers and artists around him and putting them together. That’s why right now he can’t make nothing. He can’t make [a hit] to save his life. Rozay probably couldn’t save him.”
Game Verzuz 50 Cent Could Happen
Recently, West Coast rapper Game admitted he could see himself doing a Verzuz against 50 Cent. The former G-Unit member said Fifty’s classics going up against his own made the most sense.
“(50) is the only person I would even entertain doing a Verzuz with, because it just makes the most sense and nobody else can really go with me,” Game said. “I’m not sure that we gon’ do it, but if we do, I’m definitely down to sit in a room with him.”
Game Hypes Up His Own Resume
Before you dismiss Game’s claims that not many rappers could match him hit-for-hit, listen to his take. “It’s only one artist alive that has more No. 1 hip-hop albums than me and that’s Drake, bro,” Game said. “I made my rounds. It’s an impeccable career inside of music, outside of music.”
New State Of Mind Going Into 2021
The Los Angeles native went to his Instagram page with some big words. The 40-plus year old admitted he’s growing and evolving more than ever.
“My mindset is evolving. I can’t be around the same sh*t anymore. I’m protecting my energy and focused on my growth. It’s nothing personal. … To whom it may……” -Game’s Instagram
